Chapter 4
Ok, let me recount what happened to us yesterday. The governor’s daughter turned out to be an ugly old hag, so Capt Kidd fainted. We barged in to see him lying on the floor and Henry Morgan standing there staring at him. (By the way, we never did figure out why he brought his whole convoy yesterday). I pushed my way towards the Capt. and shook him hard. Lyn Si interrogated the bewildered Governor while Rachel stood glaring at Noel who had accidentally bumped into her earlier. Jasper looked around like a lost puppy for a while before heading to get some food from the buffet spread (pig). In the end we dragged Capt. Kidd out with the rest and said “Adios!!” cheerily to the poor, distraught Governor. (Note: I bandaged Capt. Jonah before we left. I found him huddled in a heap below the walls. I felt remorseful so I apologized profusely to the Capt. He forgave me because “Your chilling beauty cooled me down,” he said. I didn’t understand anyway)
Yup, that’s what we did. We set off again (this time Capt. Kidd was bunking in Henry Morgan’s ship of the line) towards Santiago (a Spanish trading post). On the way we stopped at some Indian settlement (the name had some Coco in it) and refilled our food stock and water jars. We traded spices, sugar and some luxuries for more guns (we currently had 45 guns, the most any ship could take). Then we headed north. On the way we encountered adventure! (whoopee!!!) We rammed into Baron Raymondo, and released the cannons. As soon as we were near enough, the 3 of us jumped ship and fought with his team of swashbuckling buccaneers. From the other side of the ship, Capt. Kidd and his rogue pirates jumped on board and ambushed the startled Capt. Kidd (ahh, so yeng!!!) took out his double swords (ka-ching!!!) and dueled with the Baron. In the end, the Baron surrendered something Henry wanted (that was why we attacked in the first place): a part of Blackbeard’s treasure map. Now we’d have to turn back to Gran Granada. Maybe we could even stop by Port Royale again.
“Alright, mateses, after Santiago, we’re gonna sail back to Gran Granada. We might stop at World’s End to visit L’olonnaise and restock on food. We’ll divide the plunder there too.” Capt. Kidd addressed us from across the sea. Us 15 ships would race there and the winners get 20% of the plunder (a lot, LOT). Naturally, we put full sail and arrived there first (haha, cheats). The crew groaned when they saw our Jolly Roger waving in the breeze (now I like breezes), Lyn Si sunning herself on deck, Rachel up in the crow’s nest and me splashing (like a puny little kid!!! *sticks out tongue* – Lyn Si) about in the water.
In Santiago, we found food and lodging beside the tavern I kept on visiting. Since we arrived first, we got the 20% of plunder promised: fifty thousand gold doubloons. Capt Kidd was exceptionally generous (hmm, Joyce, hmm. Maybe he had a thing for her after the initial shock of the governor of Tortuga’s daughter’s appearance wore off – Rachel). Any who, Rachel, instead of going to the tavern, being the vain pot she was, spent exactly half of the lot on shopping. ACCIDENTALLY, she got carried away. “But not on purpose,” she kept on saying. But of course she got some stuff for her two best man(s) (she calls Lyn Si and I that, i.e. pirate disguise) some clothes she taught would suit them. But I complained they were too skimpy for comfort. So Rachel kept them to herself (HAHA, yippee for moi – Rachel). She then promised to never do that again. But then we all know it’s impossible (x metropolitan figures). Lyn Si just sunned herself the whole day (She seems to be doing that a lot nowadays). But she used up all the cucumber in the cellar and well, her skin turned ancient from soaking all the lotion and cucumber juice. Poor thing, only her nose got tanned. But she got over it eventually (cause Rachel gave her facial cream). Just then Noel swung by. Rachel’s face grimaced like she was jabbed by some stingray barb. She resented him, for some reason, but under that thick skin of hers, she had this tiny (misfortunate) soft spot for him (UGH). I just laughed while Lyn Si poked at her nose, even though it was almost as good as perfect.
As soon as Lyn Si saw Noel however, she glared. “What do you want?” He grinned, flashing a smile at me (I think my face was coloured dark-red, like deoxygenated blood) and tipped his hat-thingy to Rachel. If looks could kill, he would be dead by then. She was giving him such an icy stare, the temperature dropped. “Capt. Kidd and Henry Morgan want to see you three (how could he still grin???).”
“So he sent you to call us?” Rachel snapped.
“Yeah.” (grrr).
I was so stupidly, idiotically nodding my head (I have no idea why I did that) (What is wrong with you, woman? – Rachel). We all got up and dragged our lazy bums over to the tavern. Now dressed like normal pirate girls, some horny, desperate, old men whistled at us as we made our way. “Don’t they have better taste??? I mean, come on, you three have got to be the last resort.” Noel smirked nastily. My face turned from jolly to furious in no time (- insert colourful words -).
“Trap it, idiot. It’s not like your taste is any better,” Rachel retorted.
“At least I don’t whistle at girls like you,” he shot back.
“Shut up, lovebirds,” Lyn Si shouted, secretly smiling (she thought they looked cute together). The two turned their glare on her but she ignored it. Seeing her response, they shut up and followed obediently.
“What took you all so long??” Capt. Kidd questioned. We shrugged. “Fine. Let me introduce to you my famous friend, Jack”. A black figure, cloaked and hooded, came forward out of the shadows.
“Jack…Jack…(she was thinking, trying to recall where she heard that name before) Oh my gosh, Jack? Jack Sparrow? As in, CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow??!?!!?!” Lyn Si screeched in surprise.
“Yeah.” The figure let his hood fall back to reveal his black locks, kohl-rimmed eyes, earrings and (cute) cheeky grin. Lyn Si (obviously infatuated, haha) gasped and steadied herself by gripping the edge of a chair (FYI: Capt. Jack is still in his 20’s). He smirked and kissed mine and Rachel’s hands. He shook Noel’s hand firmly. “Well, what are we waiting for? Let’s go!” He turned on his heel and walked out the door. The others followed behind, except us.
“Go where???” We shouted in unison. When no one answered, we asked again, “”Where are we GOING?!??!” Again no one answered, so we just followed their retreating backs. Turns out we were headed back towards the harbour (why couldn’t they just say so?). There the governor was waiting to see us off. He smiled warmly at us as we boarded (Joyce was chatting up the governor’s son – Lyn Si). We cast off after they managed to pry me of the guy’s arm (or so they say. It sounds like I’m a horny ditz). (I feel so loved. Hug me)
